Fincar 5 mg is an effective medication prescribed for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH, also known as enlarged prostate) and Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness). It works by decreasing the amount of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. By preventing the conversion of testosterone into DHT, it promotes hair regrowth and decreases the size of the prostate. This medicine is recommended to be taken once daily. It can be taken with or without food. The effects of this medicine can be experienced within the first 3-4 months. However, the full effects of this medication can be experienced in 6-9 months after a daily dosage of the drug is followed. Follow your doctor’s prescription carefully and avoid consuming an overdose of the drug.

Active Ingredient Finasteride
Type Hair Loss

How Fincar 5 mg Works

It is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that contains the ingredient Finasteride in it. It blocks the action of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, thereby promoting hair regrowth. The action of 5-alpha reductase helps convert the male sex hormone testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is known to bind with the receptors of the hair follicles, causing them to lose their strength and shrink. As a result, the natural growth cycle of the hair is disturbed which results in hair loss. Furthermore, the size of the prostate also increases. Fincar 5 mg stops the action of 5-alpha reductase and decreases the amount of DHT in the body. It also helps to prevent the conversion of testosterone into DHT. This leads to an increased hair regrowth and a decreased prostate size.
